MK-Breed is a pioneer Taiwanese brand that successfully entered European and US market with perfect total solution of Crystal Shrimp in the early years.The complete range of pioneering products, from water conditioners for setup a new tank to the crystal shrimp foods for baby shrimps to grow, soon made MK-Breed a benchmark brand in the budding ornamental shrimp market.Yet years later, MK-Breed has gradually withdrawn from the highly competitive ornamental shrimp market, as a shimmering star dimmed in the starry night.

In 2020, Larmax took over the running of MK-Breed through serendipity.It triggered Team Larmax to translate a long-held idea into a clear concept.

Larmax International Co., Ltd., the internationally renowned exporter of ornamental aquatic organisms, operates owned breeding farms located in Pingtung of Taiwan, and has specialized in breeding aquatic animals for decades.The founder, Mr. Kuo-Chung Wang, is the industrial leader who has developed the world’s widest variety of Neocaridina shrimps.

In 2020, we took over the highly prestigious, renounced in Europe and US - the crystal shrimps specialized brand - MK-Breed.The founder is the pioneer in breeding crystal shrimps. He has traveled to many countries for sharing experiences and exchanging ideas, that’s why he has many fans in the US and Europe.Therefore, we focused on bringing our many years hands-on experience of breeding ornamental shrimp in MK-Breed, to create the products that follow the trend – incorporating perspectives from novice friendly, professional application, animal welfare, and scientific formula.

At the end of the summer 2020, the handover operation of production methods and core technology started from the former MK-Breed team to Larmax, but there is no reason for complacency. To thank the MK-Breed customers around the world for their long term support, we harness this enthusiasm in the research and development of every products with craftsman philosophy. It’s never easy to ensure the smooth handover, however, we will not confine ourselves in the established standards and procedures. What Larmax wants to do is not just bringing the much-loved items back, but to provide all aquarium hobbyists the products that truly meet their needs. After a year-long experiment and preparation, the new MK-Breed is ready to re-imagine the classic brand for original and new customers alike.

In the mid-summer of 2021, Larmax proudly announced: the new generation of MK-Breed will return to the market. Experience tradition, expect novelty.
